Charlotte’s Lot - The Whole Lot
Charlotte is a housewife from Dorking: she has a nice home, a nice cat and a nice pair of matching face cloths. Doctor Bedford is a celebrity healer: he is warm, caring, emotionally articulate and not at all egotistical. Doctor Bedford is working on a book on healing and is looking for people (preferably confused, attractive women) to help.
Charlotte gets in touch with Doctor Bedford on Nowthatswhaticallhealing.com and offers to tear herself open (emotionally) so he can enter her psyche and collect valuable information about her. Obviously, Charlotte needs assurance that any of the private information that she gives the ‘Doctor’ regarding her Dorking existence, sexual fantasies and engaging concerns remain discrete, although she wouldn’t mind being discovered….not really.
Once an email correspondence is struck between the two, they are sent on a journey that neither of them could have predicted-a mad and crazy journey-that involves jumble sales, art, fish and bigamy, but not necessarily in that order and, with a few scenes of a sexual nature thrown in to keep things lively.
The plot unravels, an unlikely heroine is born, and any one searching for good spiritual advice and the answers to the universe should look elsewhere, although: well done for asking. This is an upbeat comedy and an altogether true story. Both the people talking in the audio book are themselves and mean everything they say.
